If you served as a Trial Juror:
A proof of service certificate indicating the number of days served has been mailed to you and/or you received the certificate from the court at the end of your service.
If you did not need to serve
If you were not needed to report in person to serve as a trial juror, a certificate of completion has been mailed to you.
A form certifying the number of days you performed jury service will be provided to you at the completion of your service. If you require a weekly certification for your employer, you may request it from staff.
Please Note: If you are serving on a case and are not required to report for a day or several days, you will not receive jury fees, credit for service, or written verification of service for those days. You are expected to return to work, or notify your employer, any day or days you are not required to report for jury service.
You will be paid $15.00 a day beginning on the second day of service, plus $0.34 a mile traveled in attending and returning from court as a juror for mileage. The exception to this is a juror who is employed by a federal, state, or local government entity, or any other public entity as defined in California Code of Civil Procedures Section 481.200, and receives regular compensation and benefits while performing jury service. Jurors who are employed by such entities may not be paid pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure Sec. 215.
Checks for jury service are computed at the completion of service and are mailed to you at your home address. Checks should be received within a few days after your completed service.
If you are serving on a case and are not required to report for a day or several days, you will not receive jury fees during this time.
Questions regarding jury checks should be directed to jury payroll staff at (213) 314-8898.

Jurors are allowed to donate their juror fees and/or mileage to one of the programs we have available:
CASA (formerly known as the Friends of the Child Advocates)
Each month in Los Angeles County, more than 800 hurt, frightened and confused children enter the Dependency Court, or the foster care system. These are children who have been removed from their parent’s custody because of severe abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The mission of CASA is to improve the lives of these children through trained, dedicated, and effective volunteer advocates who are professionally supported by an experienced staff. The money donated to this program goes to a private, not-for-profit corporation. CASA’s goals are to provide maximum protection and representation of dependent children of the court. CASA volunteers work one-on-one with abused, neglected or exploited children, ensuring that the child’s voice is heard.
Juror Facilities Improvement Fund
This is a fund that helps improve all jury assembly rooms throughout Los Angeles County. The money donated to this fund will be applied to costs that are incurred in refurbishing the court’s jury assembly rooms.
Juror Services Enrichment Fund
The money donated to this fund will be used to help improve the overall experience of jury service in Los Angeles County through a wide range of efforts including but not limited to facility, emergency, education and jury appreciation programs.
Please consider waiving your fees or mileage to one of these programs. Staffs in the assembly rooms have the appropriate form to complete.
You are only obligated to serve jury duty once every 12 months.
